The SS Edinburgh Castle was a Steam  Ocean Liner and Refrigerated Cargo Ship built by Harland & Wolff, Belfast in 1910 for the Union Castle Line.

She served as HMS Edinburgh Castle, an Armed Cruiser, in the First World War and was moored in Freetown, Sierra Leone as an Accommodation Ship for survivors of sunken ships in the Second World War.

She was sunk as a target west of Freetown after the War as it was uneconomical to return the ship to Britain.
