120512: HMS Philomel

HMS Philomel was a Pearl Class Cruiser built in the HM Naval Dockyard, Plymouth in 1890 for the Royal Navy. She served in the First World War and in 1921 was gifted to the New Zealand Navy. HMS Philomel became a training ship based at Devonport Dockyard, Auckland, New Zealand.
