This house is sited near the location of a disused quarry near Berneray's harbour. The house was built in the 1880s as a home for Donald MacLeod and his family. When in 1900 he was allocated one of the new crofts in Borve the property passed to Malcolm Campbell. His family moved to Cheesebay in 1924 and the house passed to Donald MacLean, and subsequently to his son John.
