76897: ‘House 69’ Ferry
Widow Margaret Morrison (née Shaw) and her family were removed from their tenanted land to Ferry as cottars in about 1854. Following Margaret’s death in 1860, the house passed to daughter Catherine who lived here with her sister Sibla. It subsequently passed to Sibla’s son Kenneth.
This property is referred to as ‘house no 69’ Port (in English, Ferry) in the croft history of the area.
