8435: 11 Knock Carloway

John Paterson was living at Knock Carloway until the 1840s and it is thought he may have been on this croft.  When he moved to Upper Carloway, the croft passed to Margaret Simpson, daughter of the Rev Alexander Simpson, Lochs.  On her death in 1858, the croft was passed to Norman Morrison, Schoolmaster from Durness, latterly Baile na Cille, Uig.  He left Lewis in the 1860s.

The croft then passed to Norman Morrison (1821-1909) from Dalmore, down to his son Donald (b1865) and then to his other son John (b1883).
