This photograph was taken at Kinresort, facing northwest. The Kinresort river in the foreground, which flows into the head of Loch Resort, marks the boundary between Harris (on the left) and Lewis (on the right). The white keeper’s cottage on the left is located in Luachair, Harris, while the one on the right is in Crola, Lewis. Together, Luachair and Crola made up the former settlement of Kinresort or Kinlochresort.
