North Galson, Lewis
North Galson was created in 1924 when the Board of Agriculture agreed to divide the land of Galson Farm into three crofting townships, the other two being Melbost Borve and South Galson. North Galson has 14 crofts which are numbered from 39 to 52, following on from croft numbers in South Galson. Some feus have also been created more recently.
The settlement known as North Galson in the first half of the 19th century is dealt with separately on this website under the name of Old North Galson.
