Donald was the younger son of the same name of John Matheson and Mary Munro, 22 Crowlista and later 24 Crowlista. He was a policeman in Liverpool, where he married. When he retired he returned to Uig and built the house at 6 Carnish. His wife did not settle and they returned to Liverpool. The house was sold to Donald Macaulay, 3 Islivig.
