Neil (1894-1965) was a son of Norman Morrison and Margaret Macleod, 29 Brenish. He emigrated to Chile in 1903 and returned for the First World War.

In 1920, in Glasgow, John married Margaret Macaulay of 19 Brenish and they returned to Chile where four of their five children were born: Margaret born 1921; Isabella, 1923-2020 (born at Estancia Peckett Harbour ranch); Ethel born 1924, and Norman John born 1926. They returned to Stornoway in 1926. Their youngest child Neila was born in 1927 and Neil emigrated to Trail, British Columbia, Canada that year. The family followed in the summer of 1928,  arriving on the SS Athenia at Quebec City.
