115124: Mary Mackay

Mary (born 1811) was a daughter of Norman Mackay and Christina Buchanan, 2 Mealista, where she and her husband Donald Macleod, Pennydonald lived as cottars.

In 1837, when Mealista was cleared, they emigrated to Bury Township, Quebec with their two children, Angus born 1835 and Donald born 1836. Five more children were born after they emigrated – Norman born 1838; John born 1844; Mary born 1845; Catherine born 1847 and Murdo born 1850.
