117170: Rachel Morrison

Rachel, born 1835, was the daughter of John Morrison and Flora Paterson of Borve. The site of their home was later known as Tobhta Fhionnghala ni’ Shomhairle. Rachel emigrated to Australia with her widowed mother and siblings in 1855, sailing on the Royal Albert.

In 1863 Rachel married Reuben Appleton at Port MacDonnell. Together they were to have eight children.
