117298: John MacLeod

John, born 1732, was the son of ferryman Angus MacLeod of Borve. John was a witness in the Grianam Case, a dispute over seaweed rights. From his evidence we know that he was a tenant on Berneray between 1750 and 1762, moving to Northton by 1770. He had at least one child, a son John.
