118161: Christina MacLean

Christina, known as Chirsty, was born in 1817, the daughter of Allan MacLean and Kate MacAskill of Scolpaig. Chirsty married Neil MacDonald, also of Scolpaig. Together they were to have four children. They lived for a while in Griminish before moving to Borve during the 1850s, where Neil worked as grieve on the new farm. The site of their home was later known as Tobhta Nèill ‘ic Lachlainn. Following the death of her husband in 1901, Chirsty lived with her daughter Catherine’s family at the schoolhouse on Berneray.
