Roderick Mackenzie (1854-1924) son of Donald Mackenzie and Margaret Maciver, 10 Laxay studied for the ministry, gaining his Arts degree in Glasgow and then Divinity in New College, Edinburgh in 1898. He went to Canada where he settled with a congretation at Stornoway, Quebec. Moved to Cape North, Nova Scotia. He married a Mary Maciver but nothing further is known about her.
