Donald Macleod

Donald (born 1867) was a son of Malcolm Macleod and Catherine Maciver, 16b Laxay. He moved to Glasgow where he served his apprenticeship as a ships carpenter. He served for 20 years in the Royal Marines and was time expired when the First World War broke out but immediately rejoined. He married Henrietta Maciver from Hacklete, Bernera and settled at 30 Aird Tong in 1933. They had two children, Donald and Cathie.
