Donald Kennedy (1918-1999) son of Duncan Kennedy and Isabella Macdonald, 9 Balallan served with the Seaforths during the Second World War and was severely injured, losing a leg in Sicily. He was awarded the Military Medal. See Balallan Man's Bravery in Battle

He married Martha Strang from Glasgow and settled in Stornoway.
