Murdo (born 1857) was a son of James Morrison and Catherine Nicolson, 5 Valtos. He married Catherine  Matheson, 26 Valtos and lived at Reithmir. They had five children.

The family later settled at 3 Reef, where Murdo became the first croft tenant.
