Jessie, born c1867, was a daughter of Donald and Catherine nee Macaulay who emigrated from Lewis to Quebec in the late 1850s. She married a 1st cousin, John Macaulay from Carloway, and moved to Lewis where they set up home. According to tradition Jessie was a master card player - she even fashioned a card-table out of a tea-chest lid. A favourite pastime was coaxing the post-office customers to a game of cards.
They had a family six; no issue from any of them.
