Angus, born in 1867, was a son of George and Margaret nee Macdonald, 2 Crulivig. He was employed as a gamekeeper at Scaliscro estate from 1922 until the early 1930s.

Angus was married twice; firstly, to someone from Caithness, who died. From that marriage there was a son, Hugh. He later married someone from Laxdale.

Angus died at the home of his niece in Lochganvich
