Ann, born c1821, was a daughter of John and Catherine who moved from Strome to Valtos.
She married Kenneth Macpherson, a schoolteacher and catechist from New Street, Stornoway. They lived at Portvoller and later at Cross, with children Catherine 1847, Christina 1849, Ann 1851, Mary 1854, Roddie 1855, Margaret 1857, Elizabeth 1860, John 1864 and Kenneth 1864.
Ann is mentioned in The Men of Lewis, where a chapter is given to the life of her husband, as being particularly good at producing fine white starched collars.
