Angus (1829-1899) was a son of Murdo Buchanan and Christina Macdonald, 6 Old Carnish. He was married to Christina Matheson, 17 and later 18 Uigen. They lived for a time at 8 Old Mangersta before finally settling at 18 Uigen in 1865. They had seven children (son John was raised with a maternal aunt at 9 Islivig).
