Donald MacDonald, also known as Donald Campbell, born 1867, was from Nisishee, South Harris. In 1894 he married Ann MacLeod of 15 Ruisgarry (Trealigarry). The wedding took place in Scarista, and that is where their first five children were born. Donald worked as a farm labourer. In 1907 the family moved to a cottar’s house in Backhill, Berneray, where their youngest child was born later that year.
