Donald Alick MacKillop

Donald Alick, born in 1902, was the son of Donald MacKillop and Christina MacLeod of Baile. His father died when Donald Alick was only 4 years old. In 1911 he was living at 15 Ruisgarry (Trealigarry) with his maternal grandparents. 

Donald Alick moved to 9 Backhill with his mother in about 1925. He worked as a yachtsman, crewing on the Vita. In due course he married Annabella MacAskill of Rubha Mor. Together they were to have three children, making their home in Kilmarnock. The house at Backhill passed to Donald Alick following his mother’s death in 1945.
