Neil, born c 1806, was a son of Neil and Christina Macleod. He was given the croft, 3 Tobson, by Norman Coleby "Tormod Sassunach" on the premise that he would care for his uncle and aunt, John and Catherine Macleod, in their old age. Neil married Chirsty Macdonald from Tobson and had eight of a family.
