Evander (1873-1919) was the son of John Murray and Margaret Maciver, of 45 North Tolsta.
He became a plasterer.
Evander married Margaret Macleod, of 34 North Tolsta, and the couple settled as cottars at 45a North Tolsta.
In 1900 they had a daughter: Catherine.
Evander was widowed in 1914.
Evander married Margaret Morrison, of 31 North Tolsta, and she joined the family at 45a North Tolsta. The couple had no children.
During the First World War Evander served with the Royal Navy, aboard the HMS Thames. More information can be found at the North Tolsta Historical Society World War One website.
On the 1st of January 1919 Evander drowned during the Iolaire disaster.
