104899: SS Marguerite II
The SS Marguerite II was built by Fairfield Shipbuilders and Engineers Company Ltd., Glasgow, Scotland, and had a maximum speed of 23 knots. A luxurious passenger liner, she could accommodate 2000 passengers and 60 vehicles.
Her keel was launched in 1948, and she left Scotland for her maiden voyage on March 5 1949 captained by Donald John MacKillop of Berneray.
