The SS Ionian was a Passenger Cargo Steamship built by Workman Clark & Co, Belfast in 1901 for the Allan Line.

On October 20, 1917, on passage from Milford Haven for Plymouth, the Defensively Armed Merchant Ship struck a mine and was sunk with the loss of seven lives.
