104885: 11b Tolsta Chaolais

John Macleod (1791-1873) was a tenant of 11 Tolsta Chaolais.  In 1851, John moved to 14 Tolsta Chaolais and the croft passed to his son Norman (1822-1902).  In the 1860’s, Norman obtained 28 Tolsta Chaolais and John returned to 11 Tolsta Chaolais.

On John’s death, the croft was split between his daughter Effie (1834-1897). 11b Tolsta Chaolais and his daughter-in-law Mary at 11a Tolsta Chaolais.

When Effie died, the croft passed to nephew John Macleod, 28 Tolsta Chaolais.  There was no issue from his two marriages and the croft passed to his brother-in-law, Alexander Macleod, 28 Tolsta Chaolais and thereafter sold to Murdo Macgregor, 12 Tolsta Chaolais.
