4 Baile Ailein

Donald Maclean (1815-1890) and his family came to Balallan from Garyvard in the late 1830s. They moved to Stornoway in c1851.

The next tenant was Angus Montgomery who had been the joint tenant of 13 Balallan. He moved to 4 Balallan in the early 1850s. His son Murdo, who was a policeman in Uig, settled at 4 Balallan in the mid 1890s.
