The first occupant of 19 Tong was Murdo Macleod, of 1 Knock and Coll and in 1904 the croft was sold to John Maclean, of Coll, who gave it to his brother Donald.

Donald Maclean divided the croft, in 1952, he retained 19a and gave 19b to his son Donald.
