121450: 6 Ardslave, Harris

Alexander Macmillan (1785-1871) son of  John Macmillan, Eishken was the first tenant of 6 Ardslave. In 1818 his rent was £4.10/- and in 1830 it was £4.15/- 

In the 1830s part of the croft was taken for Angus Macleod (1801-1877) son of Roderick, 2 Manish and named 6a Ardslave. In the 1840s Angus removed to 1 Manish and both parts of the croft reverted to Alexander Macmillan.

6 Ardslave was passed to Alexander’s son, Louis Macmillan (1827-1895) who passed the croft to his nephew Alexander Macmillan (1867-) son of Donald.

The croft then passed to Alexander’s wife’s niece Catherine Mackay, 1 Ardslave and then to her son, Donald Macdonald, 6 Ardslave.

Donald Macmillan (1816-1875) son of Alexander, 6 Ardslave was a cottar on 6 Ardslave.
