26 Lacasaigh

The first known tenant of 26 Laxay was John Smith. It is not known where John came from. His daughter Mary (1821-1864) settled on the croft with her husband Norman Nicolson, 47 Balallan. Norman remarried to Isabella Macdonald, 23 Ranish and their son Murdo (1868-1949) inherited the croft.
