John Macphail (1835-1910) became the tenant of this split croft on his mother’s death in 1876.  This croft was passed from John Macphail to his daughter, Effie, who was married to John Macleod of 25 Knock. They had no family and the croft was sold to Malcolm Macarthur, 5 Borrowston.
