3 North Tolsta was a new croft in 1851; the first tenant was John Nicolson

In 1855 3a North Tolsta was added to 3 North Tolsta and the croft was passed to John's eldest son, Murdo.

Murdo passed 3 North Tolsta passed to his son-in-law, Murdo Macdonald from 16 North Tolsta.

Murdo passed 3 North Tolsta passed to their grand-daughter.

Cottars:

Margaret Nicolson  and  Donald Macleod, of 53 North Tolsta were cottars at 3 North Tolsta and they passed the house to their eldest daughter, Anne.

Anne Macleod married Donald Macleod, of 20 North Tolsta and the cottars house was passed to nephew John Macleod. He moved to Stornoway and the house passed to Murdo Maciver as 3 Shore Street.
