72 Tolastadh bho Thuath

72 North Tolsta was a newly lotted croft in 1872 and the first occupants were Evander Maciver, Ann Maciver and their surviving child, Margaret. The family had previously been cottars at 14 North Tolsta and their son, Alexander had died there. The couple went on to have a further six children: Alexander, Margaret, Murdo, Margaret, Isabella and Christina. Sadly their eldest child died a few years after they settled at 71 North Tolsta and two of their subsequent children died in infancy. Their son Alexander died aged 20, in 1892. In due course 72 North Tolsta passed to their son, Murdo.

Murdo Maciver married Jessie Martin, of 63 Back, and the couple had four children: Donald, Christina, Margaret and Alexander. In due course 72 North Tolsta passed to Alexander.

Alexander Maciver never married and in due course 72 North Tolsta was sold to a couple from Perthshire.
