The first occupants of South View, North Tolsta were Angus Morrison and Ann Macleod; the couple had five children: Angus, Murdo, Murdo, Catherine and Annabella. South View passed to their second son, Murdo.

Murdo married a woman from North Tolsta and settled with her at South View. The couple had eight children.
