5 Old North Tolsta came into existence when 5/6 Old North Tolsta was split in 1835. The first occupants were Murdo Maciver and Ann Campbell. The couple had seven children: Ann, Angus, Angus, Margaret, Murdo, Mary and Christina. In 1853 the family obtained 18 North Tolsta as a newly split croft.
