104231: 8 Old North Tolsta
8 Old North Tolsta was a newly lotted croft in 1830 and the first occupants were Alexander Martin, Mary Macrae and their son, Donald. Once settled at 8 Old North Tolsta the couple had a further four children: Ann, William, Catherine and Mary. In 1841 they emigrated to Canada and settled in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
8 Old North Tolsta passed to Donald Maciver who was married to Margaret Maclean and the already had three children: Murdo, Mary and Kenneth. Once settled at 8 Old North Tolsta the couple had a further three children: Ann, Gormelia and Marion. In 1853, Old North Tolsta was de-crofted and the land became Tolsta Farm. The family moved to 32 North Tolsta and, that same year, had their final child.
