The first tenant of 1 Cromore was Kenneth Macarthur (1803-1878) Coinneach Donn, a cousin of John Macarthur at 20 Cromore and they may have come from the Bernera/Carloway area. He passed the croft to his son-in-law, Donald Kennedy (1856-1948) Dòmhnall Chaluim Iain from 23 Cromore.

Donald passed 1 Cromore to his son John Kennedy (born 1881) Iain Dhòmhnaill Chaluim and the croft was then passed to his son.
