10 Tabost
The crofts at 9, 10, 11 and 12 Habost are believed to have been part of Duncan Maclennan's tack (see Habost), and may have been lotted later than the rest of the village.
John Macleod Donald Montgomery (born 1864) ran a shop and tailor's business Buth an Taillear at 10 Habost. He made suits and trousers for the fishermen before they went off to the fishing. The last suit made to order was for Alasdair Neil in 1931, and he made one very last suit for himself. Some of his tools and implements are on loan to the Ravenspoint Museum.
His son John carried on with the shop and operated a butchers and van service in the Lochs area from 1949 to 1977, selling finally to Bonus from Garyvard.
