John Macleod (born 1729) Iain Ruadh Mor the 8th was said to have been Tacksman at several places in Southern Park, such as Stromas, Seaforth and Scalladale where it is said that he was 12 years as Tacksman before coming to Kershader, presumably when Scalladale was cleared and absorbed into the Park Sheep Farm. He passed 4 Kershader to his son, Donald Macleod (1778-1866) Dòmhnall Iain Iain and he passed it to his youngest son, Norman (1833-1879) Tormod Dhòmhnaill Iain.
The next tenant of 4 Kershader was Malcolm Macleod (1843-1934) Calum Mhurchaidh Iain from 10 Balallan and passed the croft to his son, Angus Macleod (1888-1963) Aonghas Chaluim Mhurchaidh.
