5 Cromor

The first tenant of this croft was Donald Mackenzie (1800-1874) Dòmhnall Choinnich from 2 Keose. He passed 5 Cromore to his son, Kenneth Mackenzie (1840-1923) Coinneach Dhòmhnaill Choinnich. Kenneth passed the croft to his brother, Murdo Mackenzie (1856-1938) Murchadh Dhòmhnaill Choinnich. 

After Murdo's death 5 Cromore passed to John Macleod (born 1910) Iain Shonnie Iain Og, 6/7 Gravir and formerly of 24 Cromore.

The hill on which this croft is situated is called Cnoc an Tigh Mhor, the Hill of the Big House and it is a local tradition that an important person lived in a big house on the hill at one time. His name was said to be Ailtean and nearby there is a well which to this day is called Tobair Ailtean. There is no record as to who Ailtean was.

There is the ruin of a garden called Leis an Teambuill, the Garden of the Temple on this croft; The history of this Temple is lost in the mists of time and there is no record as to when it existed or who worshipped there.
