The first tenant of this croft was Donald Macdonald (1791) Dòmhnall Dhòmhnaill Ban from Harris and he passed 5 Torostay to his son, Murdo (1830-1876) Murchadh Dhòmhnaill Dhòmhnaill. After the death of Murdo, his widow moved to 78 Kipper Road, Stornoway.

The next tenant was Murdo Macdonald (1834-1882)  Murchadh Dhòmhnaill Dhòmhnaill from 3 Ranish and he passed 5 Torostay to his on, Murdo (born 1863) Murchadh Mhurchaidh Dhòmhnaill.

Angus Macleod (1846-1929) Aonghas Iain Aonghais from 12 Cromore was the next tenant and after his death his widow moved to Stornoway.

Allan Angus Smith (1918-1957)  Ailean Aonghas Aonghais Iain from 34 Caros, Cromore was the next tenant.

Donald Kemp Macdonald (born 1890) Dòmhnall Dhòmhnaill Dhòmhnaill was the next tenant and later moved to Sandwick Cottage, Stornoway. His brother, Angus John (1907-1976) took over the croft at 5 Torostay.
