15750: John Mackenzie
Iain Chaluim Thormoid
John (1886-1960) was a son of Malcolm Mackenzie and Ann Ferguson, 4 Calbost.
He emigrated to South America about 1904 and is believed to have been at San Julian and Punta Arenas before moving c1910 to Santa Cruz, Argentina.
John visited Stornoway in 1914 for the last time.
He married a lady from the Falkland Islands and had at least four children. Their son, Roderick, who volunteered for service in the British Army at the beginning of the Second World War and was killed at the landings at Flushing, France in 1940.
