11959: Shoemaker’s Bench and Tools
Wooden cobblers stool/bench with 2 drawers, copper tray tacked on left side. 2
drawers in the front with keyhole and handles, handle missing from the empty bottom
draw. Top surface tray has 5 compartments for tools/items. Back section is detached
from main bench. Dovetail joints, sides are split and wood had signs of infestation.
Four legs.
Used by Donald Macdonald, Grasabhaig and Gleann Ruadh, Geshader. Donated by Mr Angus Macdonald, 13 Carishader. Item was used by his father Donald Macdonald (an Griasaich) the cobbler in Geshader.
