Norman Young (1805-1888) came from Callanish to 24 Upper Barvas.
He married Eoraidh Macleod from 18 Knock Carloway. Norman and Eoraidh lived at 14/15 Ballantrushal and they had three children.
Norman was widowed in 1840 and at Barvas, in 1870, married widow, Effie Campbell of 9 North Bragar and formerly of 41 Arnol. Norman and Henrietta lived at 14/15 Ballantrushal and they had a daughter, Ann.
Norman exchanged crofts in 1873 with Murdo Smith and the family moved to 1 Ballantrusha. In 1880, they moved to Laxdale.
