Fanny, born 1884, was the daughter of Donald William MacAskill and Margaret MacLeod of 19 Kyles Scalpay. Fanny married Reverend Duncan MacAskill of 7 Borve, Berneray. Together they had four children. They lived in Portnalong, Cannich and Bernera, before retiring to Smithton, Inverness.
