He married Isabella MacDonald, 4 Steinish, in Stornoway, in 1854. Malcolm and Isabella settled at 12 Steinish and they had at least four children
Malcolm’s sister Catherine married Isabella’s brother Duncan.
Malcolm was widowed in 1879 and at Stornoway, in 1882, he married Margaret Macritchie of Steinish.
