John (1848-1934) was a son of John Munro and Marion Mackay, 2 Old Leurbost. The family obtained Croft 22 Leurbost and in 1856 moved to 1 Newmarket.
At Stornoway, in 1873, he married Ann Macleod, 13 Newmarket. John and Ann lived at 1 Newmarket and they had eight children.
John was widowed in 1908.
