Murchadh Iain Solaimh

Murdo (born 1898) was the son of John Macleod and Ann Maciver of 60 Back. He became a teacher and worked for the Lewis School Management Committee.

Murdo married Margaret Murray of 62 Back and they initially settled at 49 Vatisker.

In 1924 Murdo became the headmaster at the North Tolsta Junior Secondary School and the family settled at the Schoolhouse, North Tolsta.

In 1931 the family returned to Back and settled at 60 Back which Murdo had inherited. They had four children only three of whom survived.
